Terms of Service
Welcome to CampsiteScan. These terms are a plain-English agreement between you and CampsiteScan ("we", "us") covering your use of campsitescan.com and its alert service. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them.
1. What CampsiteScan does
CampsiteScan watches campground reservation systems for openings that match your dates and location, and emails you when one appears. We are a notification service only:
- We do not book campsites for you. Booking happens on the official reservation site, under their terms and prices.
- We cannot guarantee that an opening will still be available when you click through. Cancellations get rebooked fast — that's the whole point.
- We check availability on a regular cycle (currently about every five minutes). Timing may vary and checks may occasionally be delayed or missed due to maintenance or outages of the upstream reservation systems.
CampsiteScan is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to ReserveCalifornia, California State Parks, or any park operator or reservation provider. All park names belong to their owners.
2. Your account
- You need an account with a valid email address, since alerts are delivered by email. Keep it current — alerts sent to a dead address are alerts you'll never see.
- You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password private.
- One account per person.
- You must be at least 18 to subscribe (a payment card is required).
3. Price and billing
- Free accounts include full functionality with checks every 15 minutes.
- The Pro subscription is $6.99 per month (plus any applicable taxes), billed monthly to your card from the day you subscribe until you cancel, and upgrades your checks to every 5 minutes. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Cancel anytime from the Manage Subscription link in your account settings. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you've paid for, then stops.
- Refunds: we don't offer refunds for partial months. If something went genuinely wrong on our end, contact us — a person reads every message, and we're reasonable.
- If a renewal payment fails, your watches pause (your setup is kept) until payment is fixed.
- We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice by email; changes apply from your next billing cycle.
4. Fair use
Don't abuse the service. That includes attempting to scrape, resell, or redistribute our alerts or data; probing or disrupting the service; using it for anything unlawful; or circumventing account or plan limits. We may suspend or close accounts that do.
5. Disclaimers
CampsiteScan is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but we make no warranties — express or implied — about availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. Upstream reservation systems change, block, rate-limit, and break without warning, and campsite data comes from them.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including a missed campsite, a changed trip, or anything you book (or don't book) based on an alert.
7. Ending or changing the service
We may update, suspend, or discontinue features of the service. If we discontinue paid service entirely, we'll refund the unused portion of your current billing period. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or on the site, and continued use after that means you accept them.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Any disputes will be handled in the courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
